A bit about me

Hi, I'm Emerson, but feel free to call me Emmie (all my friends do!). I'm a Designer and Researcher currently based in Chicago.

My experience includes building designs from scratch, guiding impactful research, and creating user-centered, intuitive products and services that solve real problems.

I’m a graduate of Northwestern University's MS in Engineering Design Innovation, where I spent 18 months fully immersed in user research and human-centered design principles. Since then, I’ve worked across the research-to-design spectrum: from digging into user needs to building products that actually make sense for the people using them.

I've spent plenty of time running interviews, usability tests, and iterating until things just feel right.

I’m curious by nature, big on asking “why,” and am always looking for ways to make things clearer, kinder, and more usable.
